  • Overview

    ProSphere is seeking a seasoned System Administrator with strong knowledge of creating plans to ensure effective management, operations and maintenance of systems and/or networks. We are looking for someone who has extensive knowledge of a wide variety of systems and networks to include high volume/high availability systems. We are considering highly technical individuals who possess leadership skills and a positive attitude.

     

    This is a full-time opportunity in Austin, Texas. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide routine IT customer support in both administrative and technical areas
    • Configure and maintain customer COTS applications
    • Administer and maintain all customer virtual servers and Office 365 applications
    • Analyze the AS IS configuration for Office 365 applications and make recommendations and implement best practices
    • Troubleshooting of basic IT services as needed
    • Daily use of ticketing system
    • Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the cloud for Office 365 applications
    • Responsible for all assigned trouble tickets from creation to resolution
    • Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values
    • Ensure that all application configuration related to permissions adheres to the VA’s security access controls and separation of duties
    • Troubleshooting ranges from basic issues to email related issues for Executive level users
    • Train and/or advise mid-level and/or junior-level System Administrators performing similar work

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor degree in computer science, systems engineering or related technical discipline is preferred (8-years of relevant experience may be substituted for education)
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a System Administrator
    • Experience providing IT support to multiple sites hosted in the cloud
    • Experience with implementing and supporting Office 365 applications (e.g. SharePoint Online, Project Online, etc.) running in the Azure cloud
    • Hands-on experience writing small development programs and scripts.
    • Experience with MS Active Directory administration (e.g. Users, Security Groups, etc.)
    • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills are required
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills with hands-on experience providing solutions for complex issues while implementing Microsoft Online products
    • Ability to take a business problem and develop a long-term solution and clearly articulate this in business and techie speak
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction providing technical and non-technical support to multiple users
    • Capable to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Experience providing services to the federal government and/or the Dept. of Veterans’ Affairs is preferred
    • Ability to work overtime required on occasion
    • Experience converting SSRS reports to Power BI would be an added value to this role
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance for persons in a position of public trust conducted by the VA/OPM

     

    Physical Demands:

    • Typical office environment. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
    • Ability to lift 5-20 lbs.
