    ProSphere is currently seeking a senior level Systems Engineer to support a broad range of application portfolios and technologies. As a member of our team you will maintain close working relationships with technology vendors, systems owners and users to ensure applications and services meet security requirements and industry best practices.


    Our ideal new team member will be able to demonstrate an advanced level of server support within a RedHat Linux and Windows environment. Must be a strong team player and have a desire to learn new technologies as needed. This is a full-time opportunity in Austin, Texas. Veterans are encouraged to apply.


    • Design and manage the complex engineering and integration of the application, security, and infrastructure architecture
    • Analyze needs and requirements of existing and proposed systems, and develop technical, structural, and organizational specifications
    • Monitor enterprise architecture and computer systems to ensure they are working optimally and that the hardware and software being used are compatible with all appropriate Federal policies and procedures
    • Manage infrastructure equipment life cycles, requirements engineering, and capacity planning
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of Infrastructure and Application architecture
    • Identify departmental needs and make suggestions regarding technical direction
    • Design and implement system security and data assurance
    • Configure and install software applications for other organizations
    • Test software applications and systems
    • Analyze current and future users' needs
    • Create flowcharts, diagrams, and other documentation
    • Create manuals and detailed sets of instructions for Administrators (Application, System, Data, Network, and Security)
    • Understand how infrastructure (equipment, connectivity, application interfaces, images and processed data inputs and outputs) are moved from point A to point B
    • Work with an internal customer organization and troubleshoot, for instance, incoming images/data being processed for invoice or other types of processing which might be embedded in the image/data processing system that is then passed to a data entry or other validation system


    • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering or Technical discipline, preferred (10 years of additional related professional experience may be substituted for degree)
    • 10 years of related experience is required
    • Extensive server support and maintenance within a Windows and Linux environment 
    • Scripting experience (Bash, PowerShell, Perl)
    • Application installations and management experience 
    • Hands-On experience with Jenkins
    • Hands-On experience working with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
    • Hands-on Active Directory management experience 
    • SSO, SOA knowledge
    • Hands on experience working with customers and vendor partners to implement solutions and recommend process improvements that streamline business processes
    • Hands on experience as a technologist writing scripts and queries to move/manage data
    • Experience providing direction to junior engineers and facilitating an environment of knowledge sharing and best practices
    • Work independently with minimal direction and adapt to daily changes in priorities/deliverables to meet timelines and the needs of the customers
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction providing technical and non-technical support to multiple users
    • Ability to work overtime required on occasion
    • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
    • Government Contractor experience is a plus

    Physical Demands:

    • Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
    • May be required to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
    • Ability to sit at a workstation for long periods of time
