  • Overview

    ProSphere is seeking a seasoned Sharepoint Administrator to support our Government client.  This individual will have strong knowledge of providing effective management, operations and maintenance of systems and networks. The successful candidate will be highly technical and possess the ability to lead a team. This is a full-time opportunity located in Washington, DC. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

    Responsibilities

    • Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and manage a SharePoint farm.
    • Train and support users on how to upload a document; start an approval workflow, etc.
    • Resolve user tickets and perform ticket management.
    • Install and configure Internet Information Services. 
    • Trouble-shoot and remediate IIS issues.
    • Review and apply as needed IIS patches.
    • Create new websites, virtual directories, and applications.
    • Create/manage application pools.
    • Configure custom HTTP settings including error responses, headers, and directory information displayed.
    • Delegate site and application management.
    • Monitor activity for troubleshooting and capacity planning.
    • Implement security: configure authentication, SSL, authorization rules, and server certificates.
    • Configure web application settings: connections strings, machine keys, SMTP.
    • Migrate applications from one IIS server to another.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors degree in computer science, systems engineering or related technical discipline is preferred
    • 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer or equivalent, Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (ASP.net), and SharePoint Microsoft Certified Professional
    • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills are required
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction providing technical and non-technical support to multiple users
    • Capable of working under pressure, while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Experience providing services to the federal government and/or the Dept. of Veterans Affairs is preferred
    • Travel may be required
    • Ability to work overtime required on occasion
    • Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time
    • Remote and on-call responsibilities may be required
