    ProSphere is seeking a seasoned Systems Administrator capable of creating plans to assure effective management, operations, and maintenance of systems and/or networks. We are looking for strong knowledge in LINUX including RED HAT. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of a wide variety of systems and networks to include high volume/high availability systems. We are considering highly technical individuals who possess leadership skills and a positive attitude. This is a full-time opportunity located in Austin, Texas. Veterans are encouraged to apply.


    • Administer and maintain all customer servers, both physical and virtual in a Windows and Linux environment
    • Analyze and report on daily event logs – provide corrective action as is required
    • Maintain a 99.999% operational availability not related to any customer related or responsible event
    • Perform monthly security/system patches and updates manually and through SCOM
    • Participate in technical research and development to enable continuous innovation within the infrastructure
    • Resolve a wide range of hardware and network technology issues in a high volume, fast paced environment
    • Responsible for all assigned LINUX trouble tickets from creation to resolution
    • Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values
    • Troubleshooting ranges from basic issues to email related issues for Executive level users
    • Train and/or advise mid-level and/or junior-level System Administrators performing similar work
    • Provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and network infrastructure


    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems engineering or related technical discipline; (8 years of related experience may be substituted for a degree.)
    • 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role within a Red Hat Linux or CentOS environment
    • LINUX based infrastructure installation, maintenance and troubleshooting experience 
    • Extensive load balancing and load maintenance
    • Cluster system administration experience
    • Python development experience
    • Experience with automation tools (Puppet, Ansible, etc)
    • Experience providing IT support to multiple work sites
    • MS Active Directory administration (Users, Groups, GPO, Security, etc.)
    • PowerShell scripting is highly desirable
    • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills are required
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills for Desktops and Laptops
    • Ability to work independently with minimal direction providing technical and non-technical support to multiple users
    • Capable of working under pressure, while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Experience providing services to the federal government and/or the Dept. of Veterans’ Affairs is preferred
    • Travel may be required
    • Ability to work overtime required on occasion
    • Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time
